Origin story
It was my senior year in high school and I finally had a chance to elect my own courses. In place of the AP Calculus class I was suggested to take I decided I'd take the Intro to Drawing and Painting. I always liked drawing when I was younger, but had never taken it seriously. When I enrolled my teacher soon realized with my rendering (top left) that I was skilled enough to participate in the intermediate curriculum. One advantage of this was that I was able to submit an entry (top right) into the Scholastic Art Competition where I received a Silver Key award. I did not intend to pursue art after high school, but after failing my first year at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and mulling around for a year and a half more pursuing a business degree I switched gears and enrolled in art classes again. It was then that I began to quickly excel and found my passion. Through the Art program prerequisite courses I was exposed to sculpture and discovered an even wider realm of creating that has fueled my endeavors to new heights.
